What: Full-length Play - Part of the 2023 Moving Arts First Look Reading Series

When: September, 2023

Why: I submitted a short synopsis of a play I’d been thinking of writing, along with some of my previous work, to the Moving Arts First Look Reading Series (MadLab) and was chosen as one of five playwrights for the 2023 season! This was a playwright intensive where we were given the opportunity to write multiple drafts of a play, have actors read those drafts in front of invite-only readings, and get feedback from those readings afterward, all over the course of 9 months. This all culminated in a final quasi-staged reading with an open audience. It was an amazing experience getting to work with such talented Los Angeles writers, under the guidance of Dana Schwartz, Director of Programming for Moving Arts.

The play I wrote was called "Parasomnia”, about a man who invites a stranger to sleep on his couch, and together they uncover the mysterious origins of his sleep disorder.
